Welles Park

Whoo, it's so frosty! It's a small photo, But believe me, it's beauteous, within and out.

I'm sure Cletus knows the place to which I'm referring. (don'tcha? you live nearby)

Anyways... This is a gazebo which was put in during rennovation within the last 5 years. The park is glorious.

I don't know why, but it's got me the Holiday Ghosties on the Brain.

I have family
Many long since gone
Sometimes when I'm sleeping
Some sing a song
Even the pets we used to keep
Although I no longer live there,
I hear them creep
Little dogs and cats crawl and
Sleep at my feet
in the bed in
warm bedding
I hear their animal murmurs
and their drooling, and their purrs
And then
Nana
and another
comes to stroke my forehead
Thinking I have fever
One hand
And then another (i know it is)
It's almost a fight, because
I see no one, but
You know
It's Holiday, and
Who wants to be unnoticed?
I am so lucky
I have two spirits fighting over me.

Yes, the gazebo in Welles Park is very lovely (I haven't been by since it's been decorated and I need to), as is your touching bit of verse.

Not too bad, just doing lots of research and geeky web stuff, trying to keep my wacky schemes of world liberation afloat.

How bout you? How goes the ambulancary technicizing?

Give me a call sometime when you're not serving the public and we can hang out and stuff. Perhaps get together with our lady of perpetual suburban sorrow and see if we can't bring her some cheer, eh?

that gazebo looks wintery wonderlandy and very enticing....if you two get together for a drink (love the 'lady of perpetual suburban sorrow' tag...)then I send you a 'cheers my dears' over the ether...

If Cuz and I do get together, there will no doubt be more than "a" drink consumed (we share a common cultural and social bond where that is concerned). But your "cheers via the ether" will be most appreciated.

Hmmm...I seem to remember a rain check for a bottle of Knob Creek Bourbon from last summer. Holiday cheer could be very near, my dear.

The bottle of Knob Creek that you were unable to bring to the big cookout and that I said you could just bring some other time (after having cheekishly asked you to bring it to begin with). Good bourbon (or the thought of it) just makes me all greedy-like I guess.

Yeah, yeah. I know. Bottle of Knob Creek with yer liver's pet name on it.

Why's don't chooo just call and we'll figger out a timey-time for the RainCheckDistill, and all's good. I keep on me promises, just ask anywho!

Can't do the blog thing......as I said when I emailed OLOPSS I am no use at all when using technology and have to have TREMENDOUS AMOUNTS OF VERY CLEAR INSTRUCTION kindly given to me by my daughter when using the computer...and I'm all about keeping harmony in the home........May I also ask what could appear to be a dim question? Yes? Do you three (Laura, Lorelei, Cletus) get to know each other because of blogging or did you know each other before?

No, we all met out there on the internet and ignored our mamas' injunctions to stay away from strangers ;-)

Cletus, I was Xmas shopping (yech!) tonight and was Target and went up this aisle and guess what I saw?

A BIG HONKIN' BOTTLE OF KNOB CREEK!! (Which I'd never heard of before reading this thread.) On sale, too, I think. Even so, the shit's not cheap.

Yeah, it's some crazy expensive stuff. Which is why my quest for a bottle from Cuz is pretty much a joke. "Oh yes dahling, could you pick me up a bottle of Chevas, some truffles, and a pound of caviar. Oh, and grab some Knob Creek for our American guests."
